ANGLICAN DAILY FOUNTAIN DEVOTIONAL 2 OCTOBER 2021

TOPIC: PRAYER OF THE SAINTS

TEXT: Revelation 8:1-5(NKJV)
1. When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
2. And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.
3. Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense, that he should offer [it] with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God from the angel’s hand.
5. Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw [it] to the earth. And there were noises, thunderings, lightnings, and an earthquake.

Anglican Daily Fountain 2nd October 2021 | STUDY:

Jesus encouraged us to pray without fainting(Luke 18:1);our prayers are not in vain. In the passage we read, we saw an Angel holding a Golden Censer, with much Incense, to offer it with the prayer of the Saints before the throne of God. This Incense can be said to represent the perfection, merit. and virtuc of the life Oi Christ, everything speaks of Christ, and more particularly of what He did at the Cross.

The prayer of the Saints (believers) is precious in the sight of God, though it may not be perfect. Added to our prayers must be the Incense, which is a type of the sweet savour of the merit of the life. death, and resurrection of Christ. No matter what your experience has been, what you are currently passing through, if you are a child of God, be strong in prayer, do not faint; pray in the name of Jesus. Knowing our prayers come “up before God,’ (v.4) if we pray according to His will, should inspire us to a greater life of prayer. Pray and relax: There is judgment coming upon this evil world (v.5).

Prayer: O Lord, strengthen ne to a greater life of prayer.
